The following are examples of support available at our university: With the purpose of preparing a stable learning environment for students, other support devices and systems are provided by the respective departments. Please contact the corresponding department for details.
Support for students with hearing disabilities
Communication guidance
We provide sign-language guidance for new students.
A variety of visual-based educational materials
Classes are provided using various types of visual-based educational materials, including videos with captions and display of content using a large projector.
Summary notes for lessons by part-time lecturers
Summary notes are provided for lessons by external lecturers who cannot communicate by sign language so that lesson contents can be presented properly.
Supplementary lessons for foreign language lessons and math and science lessons
Tutors are employed to provide supplementary lessons to individuals in subjects where gaps in academic achievement can easily occur, such as foreign languages or math and science.
Fitting services for hearing aids
We provide fitting services for correct use of hearing aids.
Information broadcasting through a CATV System
We broadcast campus information and various news in the form of video and text through an in-house cable television system.
Various other student services may be provided according to demand.
Support for students with visual disabilities
Braille guidance
Partially blind students who have not studied Braille before are provided with training in reading and writing Braille.
Walking guidance
We provide walking guidance for new students to familiarize them with the campus grounds and surrounding areas so that they can get around the campus without difficulty.
Brail translation and transliteration services
We convert printed materials necessary for learning into a form of Braille or an audible format (DAISY).
Information literacy education
A course on how to use screen reader software and image expansion software is available at the start of the academic year.
Support device rental and guidance services
We rent various types of support devices for blind or weak-sighted students and provide guidance on using and purchasing them.
Sports facilities enabling safe exercise
A safe environment for enjoying sports and leisure activities is provided by the installation of wall cushions and sound signs.
Other kinds of student support are also provided according to demand.
Center for Integrative Medicine
The Center was founded to integrate Western and Oriental medicine and provides students in the Acupuncture and Moxibustion/Physical Therapy courses with clinical training opportunities before and after their acquisition of qualifications, while also serving as a place of clinical study for teachers. Our mission is to develop medical treatment and therapy based on integrated expertise of both Western and Oriental medicine and contribute to the development of medicine in the community.
